Meet Our Staff

Yvette Daniel

~Lead Teacher~

Yvette Daniel is the Lead Teacher to our wonderful Toddlers. She obtained her degree in Early Childhood Development in 1987 from Wayne State University, Detroit Michigan and in 2001 her Montessori AMS Certification from the Michigan Montessori Education Center. On a personal note, she is a mother of two wonderful children and she enjoys singing, yoga, and traveling.
Melissa Gustafson

~Lead Teacher~

Melissa Gustafson started at Montessori of Surprise in 2011 as an Assistant Teacher before now becoming a Lead Teacher in our Primary Program. Before her career at MOS, she was previously employed in the Washington Elementary School District for over five years. She is currently continuing her degree in the Education Field and is in the process of planning her upcoming wedding to her wonderful fiancé, Matt.
Ms. Marissa

~Lead 1 year old teacher~

Ms. Marissa joined our Montessori of Surprise family in the summer of 2010. She devoted herself to assisting in elementary for three exciting years before taking her Infant/Toddler training. Ms. Marissa completed her certification in May of 2015 and became the Lead Teacher in Room 5. She lovingly guides our 1 year olds through their developmental milestones and encourages their independence and social growth. She is currently working to obtain her degree in Early Childhood Administration and Management. On a personal note, Ms. Marissa is happily married and enjoys reading, going to church, spending time with her husband, and being with her family.
Ms. Mary

~Lead 3-5 teacher~

Ms. Mary taught Kindergarten-2nd grade in a tradition school setting for 10 years before she realized that the Montessori philosophy was her true passion. She enjoys expanding the knowledge of the children who have moved through our Toddler program, as well as introducing the joys of learning to our new families. On a more personal note, she has two grown children. Ms. Mary had the pleasure of living in Michigan, Florida, Wyoming, and Colorado before settling here in Arizona. In her spare time Ms. Mary enjoys traveling, gardening, and reading.
